Title: "Advancing Stroke Rehabilitation: Insights from Pakistan and the Path to Optimal Recovery with Emerging Technologies"
Abstract: Stroke remains a leading cause of disability worldwide, including in Pakistan, where the burden is compounded by limited awareness and accessibility to advanced rehabilitation techniques. This keynote will provide an overview of stroke statistics in Pakistan, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities in stroke care.
Drawing on my research and clinical experience, I will present innovative rehabilitation approaches, including virtual reality-based Xbox training, the FAST table for upper limb recovery, vagus nerve stimulation, and inspiratory muscle training for balance improvement.
The presentation will also outline the potential of emerging technologies like robotics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence in transforming stroke rehabilitation in resource-constrained settings. By sharing practical insights and highlighting the way forward, this talk aims to inspire collaboration and adoption of cutting-edge solutions to help stroke survivors achieve optimal functional outcomes.
